The Authority performs the quality management system audits, process quality audits and product quality audits based on a request submitted by the customer or supplier of the product.
Customer means (according to §17 para. 2 Act. 309/2000 Coll.) ministries, other administrative bodies, regions, relevant NATO bodies, similar authorities or bodies of NATO member states or similar authorities or bodies of other countries.
Audits are carried out mainly at suppliers who have concluded a contract with one of the customers for the supply of a product intended to ensure national defence.
Audits are not performed at suppliers of commercial products and low-risk products that are not subject to the Government Quality Assurance.
How to request a quality audit
The supplier sends a request for audit to the Authority's data mailbox.
Then the supplier is informed in writing about the processing of the request. In case of a negative decision, the Authority provides the relevant justification. If the request is granted, the Authority concludes an audit contract with the audited supplier. The supplier is then asked to complete an entry questionnaire.
The Authority handles the request for an audit submitted by a new supplier in an administrative procedure pursuant to Act no. 500/2004 Coll. If the Authority decides to perform the audit, it will conclude an audit contract with the supplier and subsequently invite the supplier to complete an entry questionnaire.
The request for an audit within the three-year period of performance of the audit contract replaces the entry questionnaire. The Authority handles such requests in a shortened procedure.
Requests for an audit after the end of the three-year period of performance of the audit contract are handled by the Authority in a shortened procedure, within which a new audit contract will be concluded with the supplier.
Performance of quality system audits
When conducting quality system audits, the Czech Defense Standards (ČOS) listed below, implementing the NATO AQAP contractual type publications, are used:
ČOS 051672 (AQAP-2110),
ČOS 051674 (AQAP-2310),
ČOS 051651 (AQAP-2210).
From each audit, the Authority processes a report and provides it to the supplier, and possibly also to the customer. If the result of the quality system audit is satisfactory, the Authority issues a certificate of compliance of the quality system with the requirements of the relevant standard.
